Pork Carnitas


PULLED PORK CARNITAS

I made these for a Mexican themed tailgate party and what a hit! Easy to prepare using EPICURE's PULLED CHICKEN seasoning, these Pork Carnitas are great for your next event! Whether it's Tacos, Burritos, Nachos or a Sandwich, you'll be glad you made this delicious recipe!

4 lb boneless pork butt, 1 pack Pulled Chicken, 1 onion chopped, 2-3 tsp salt, 1 1/2 c unsweetened orange juice. Salt pork on all sides and coat with seasoning. Place fat side up in a dutch oven. Top with onion and pour orange juice around. Cover and roast at 325 for 2 1/2 hours. Uncover, turn roast over and cook one more hour. Shred meat when done cooking and mix with the pan juices. Can be made ahead to this point. Before serving sear in a cast iron skillet until crisp and caramelized. 

Served with tortillas, cilantro, radish and pickled red onion.
